EWeek
Engineers Week 2026

NSPE founded Engineers Week in 1951 to call attention to the contributions that engineers make to society. Since then, the goal has evolved to include outreach to young students, and a call to engage, educate, and inspire learners of all ages to consider a career in engineering.

Now sponsored by our strategic partner, DiscoverE, Engineers Week (February 22-28, 2026) is a time for PEs to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world.

The 2026 theme and resources will be revealed Fall 2025!

Engineers Are Shaping the Future.

Engineering is at the forefront of innovation and is instrumental in designing and creating the solutions that are shaping the world of tomorrow. From the development of the internet and smartphones to space exploration and renewable energy solutions, engineers have been at the forefront of progress, making our lives more efficient, comfortable, and connected. Through their creativity, expertise, and dedication, engineering teams are addressing global challenges, driving technological advancements, and making a positive impact on society’s future.

At the National Society of Professional Engineers, we believe in preserving and protecting our world for future generations by serving as good stewards of the environment. PEs are uniquely positioned to be a positive and driving influence in creating, maintaining, and renewing sustainable communities. We are connected, inclusive, committed to ethical practice, and so much more.

The Society recognizes that attention to sustainable and resilient design practices is critical to the health of the planet and is an integral part of the practice of engineering. More than a week-long event, Engineers Week is a year-round commitment to making a difference. Add your voice to the conversation about the need for engineers, technicians, and technologists, and celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world.

Engagement Ideas

We invite you to join us in the Welcome to the Future campaign to shine a spotlight on how engineers are building a better tomorrow!

During Engineers Week or anytime during the year, we invite you to:

  • Visit a classroom or afterschool. Use this guide to learn the ins and outs of planning your visit.
  • Watch Chats with Change Makers. Introduce students to different engineers and technicians each month.
  • Host an engineering event and lead hands-on engineering activities with students.
  • Share a photo or video showing how engineers welcome the future. Encourage friends and colleagues to do the same!
  • Update your profile picture or Zoom background with the "Welcome to the Future" graphic.
  • Recognize the engineers you know and/or work with for #EWeek2026.
  • Participate in the #IamNSPE campaign by sharing a short video introduction about you and your NSPE membership story.
  • If you’re a female engineer, share your story on social media with a #GirlDay2026 graphic to help inspire the next generation of women engineers!
  • Encourage the engineering students in your life to share how they are creating the future on their social channels.
