Every project—large or small—depends on the judgment, integrity, and accountability of those who design and deliver it. In this session, we’ll explore what it means to act ethically when no one is watching and how our professional choices reflect the values that define the engineering community.
The presentation will highlight the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Code of Ethics and the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCBELS) requirements for licensed professionals. Through real-world case studies and NSPE Board of Ethical Review decisions, participants will analyze situations that test professional judgment and discuss how to apply ethical principles in practice. Attendees will leave with practical insight into upholding public trust, promoting fairness, and strengthening their own moral framework as engineers.
