Speaker: Jeff Vernon, MCP, CBO Jeff Vernon is a Master Code Professional, a Certified Building Official and holds NC Level III certifications in all five trades. (Building, Electric, Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire) Jeff has been working in the construction industry for over 40 years beginning with a 6-year stint in the US Army where he served in Germany, Honduras, Alabama and at the US Army Engineer School in Ft. Belvoir, VA. He has worked in Prince William County, VA and in Lincoln, Gaston and Mecklenburg Counties in NC. Through the years, he has been an inspector, a plan reviewer, a senior plan reviewer, and a department director among other job titles. He is currently employed by Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement where he serves as the Building Code Administrator. Jeff has taught as an adjunct professor at Central Piedmont Community College for over 12 years and continues to serve as a Code Consultant for fifth year Architecture students at UNCC upon request. He has written various newspaper and magazine articles and created numerous presentations on code-related issues. Jeff is also an Ordained Bishop. He is married, has 7 children and 3 grandchildren
