This presentation is intended to fulfill the culmination project requirement for the PENC Leadership Institute (Class of 2024–2025). It reflects lessons learned throughout the course and aims to provide practical takeaways for engineers stepping into leadership roles. The content is original and tailored for the PENC audience.
I would appreciate access to a screen/projector setup with audio and the ability to use polling software (e.g., Slido or Poll Everywhere) via Wi-Fi during the session. A room setup that supports small group discussion or roundtable layout would also be ideal, but I can adapt to a classroom format if needed. Kevin and I will only be available on Monday.
The presenting team is not available on December 9th.
This presentation can be aided by soil health demonstrations. I have access to two types of soil health demonstration kits through the North Carolina Soil Health Coalition. One demonstration is a "Slake Test" and the other is a "Rainfall Simulator." These are powerful visuals that can supplement the presentation as long as it is feasible to set them up. They can be set up indoors easily.
There will be some audio components to this presentation.
I can make edits to make it less Washington focused. The presentation is about work from quite a while ago. But it might be interesting to look back on something that was a huge deal for bridge engineers not long ago.
Siemens Energy, Inc. substation design group is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. We provide services to electric utility and other industry groups throughout North America.
No I am waiting on the selection committee. I feel that all civil engineers will be interested in learning more about cranes since these engineers work around them.
While my background is in healthcare leadership, my expertise in conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and authentic leadership directly applies to engineering. When strong leadership isn’t in place, even the most precise designs or logistical plans can fail—teams miscommunicate, projects stall, and efficiency suffers. My signature talks provide practical tools to help professionals, including engineers, lead with clarity, resolve conflict, and bring people along so projects succeed as strongly as the systems they build.
