Increases in the intensity and severity of natural hazards have spotlighted infrastructure vulnerability to these hazards, raising awareness on the importance of community-level mitigation and adaptation. This presentation will speak to the North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program, a new North Carolina program intended to address community-level awareness and climate adaptation needs, as well as Dewberry’s recent work with several communities to identify and address these hazards while ensuring broad community participation in the process. This presentation will also review broader efforts and trends in resilience planning and solution implementation in communities across the country.
