Speaker Bio Brian Naumuk is Vice President of Zone Operations at Duke Energy, one of the largest electric power holding companies in the United States. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Brian brings decades of experience in utility operations, energy infrastructure, and leadership in power generation. Throughout his career at Duke Energy, Brian has held several key leadership roles, including Plant Manager at the W.S. Lee Station in South Carolina. Under his leadership, the station became the most efficient plant in the Duke Energy system, operating 5% more efficiently than projected. His work has been instrumental in advancing Duke Energy’s transition to cleaner, more efficient energy sources, including the development of combined-cycle natural gas technology. As a leader, Brian is known for his operational expertise, commitment to safety, and dedication to community engagement. He has overseen major infrastructure projects, led teams through complex transitions, and championed innovations that improve reliability and environmental performance. Brian is also a strong advocate for the people behind the power—supporting lineworkers, engineers, and operations staff who keep the grid running. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to both technical excellence and the communities Duke Energy serves. Brian is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and a graduate of NC State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has spent the last six years working in Distribution with Duke Energy, further strengthening his expertise in utility operations and customer service.
