Plant tour of Proto-Tech Manufacturing - Washington, NC

When: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2026
Noontime plant tour with no lunch meal provided.

Proto-Tech Manufacturing, established in 2021 in Florida by owners Brett Palaschak and Dustin Johnson is full-service design, engineering, and manufacturing firm providing services for fiberglass boat builders. Proto-Tech does not make the boat, they design, engineer, and make the equipment that make the boats such as molds, plugs, custom manufacturing equipment, etc. Proto-Tech also provides high tech engineering solutions to support boat manufacturers in the design of all aspects and parts of high-end fiberglass boats. Proto-Tech’s customers include a long list of boat builders including many local boat builders such as Grady-White, Pair Custom, Chaparral, and Sea Cat just to name a few. Proto-Tech specializes in 3-D computer modeling design and 5-axis machining of large boat parts. Proto-Tech also manufactures custom parts for fiberglass boat builders. The meeting will include a presentation on capabilities of Proto-Tech and a tour of their new plant in Washington that opened in 2024. This will be a tour of an operating manufacturing plant, please wear appropriate shoes and clothing.

Presenter: Brett Palaschak – Owner and President of Proto-Tech Manufacturing.
Brett earned a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. He began his career working with nuclear submarines before transitioning to the boat manufacturing industry, where he started as a structural engineer and advanced to the role of Director of Engineering and Prototype. Throughout his career, Brett developed a strong passion for operations, management, and the design of efficient operating systems. This interest led him to shift his focus toward overseeing complex manufacturing environments, including a tooling facility, machine shop, metal shop, and a full-scale boat manufacturing plant. Brett brings a deep and diverse background in engineering, prototyping, and operations management. His areas of specialization include
mechanical engineering, production and manufacturing engineering, lean manufacturing, production management, quality systems, process optimization, facility setup, and team development.
