Join PENC, the PENC Educational Foundation, and Wake STEM Advisory Board for a winter social and fundraiser on Monday, December 8! Monday, December 8, 2025 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Raleigh Brewing Company 3709 Neil Street Raleigh, North Carolina 27607
The PENC Educational Foundation works to fund STEM competitions geared towards middle school students and provides scholarships to students studying various engineering majors in North Carolina. We help organize, promote and fund two major competitions in North Carolina – MATHCOUNTS, a national math competition, and the Future City competition. To learn more about our work, please visit our website. To help fund these programs, we are planning a Winter Social and Silent Auction to raise money for our 2026 activities. Each ticket to the event will include two drink tickets, access to the silent auction, and light snacks.
We will be featuring sponsorship opportunities and silent auction donation tiers. Any silent auction donations will be tax deductible and both options will include tickets to the event. Registration will open soon!
EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION The
PENC Educational Foundation is a tax-exempt corporation that
administers funding for PENC's educational service programs such as
MATHCOUNTS, student paper competitions, scholarship awards, teacher
recognition and chapter educational service programs. MATHCOUNTS MATHCOUNTS
is a national math competition program that promotes middle school
mathematics achievement in every US state and territory. Sponsored by
PENC and NSPE, MATHCOUNTS is one of the most successful education
partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors and
students. Learn more about North Carolina MATHCOUNTS competitions. FUTURE CITY COMPETITION The
Future City Competition provides a fun and exciting education
engineering program for seventh and eighth grade students. This is a
hands-on engineering challenge and each team presents their vision of a
city of the future. The competition is intended to foster engineering
skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving; provide
interaction among students, teachers and engineer mentors; inform the
community about the multi-disciplines within the engineering profession;
and to inspire students to explore futuristic concepts and careers in
engineering. WAKE STEM The mission of the Wake STEM Early College High School is to
provide a highly supportive and academically challenging learning
environment for students underserved in a traditional high school
setting and underrepresented in the STEM disciplines, including
first-generation college-going students, who will graduate prepared to
compete globally in careers related to science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics.
